Living the Adriatic Sea in a non-touristic way is not as difficult as it seems. It is enough not to align to the mass tourism and decide to follow a natural vein. A bit of the Balkans and a bit of Italy to live: an unusual travel to discover less known touristic routes, something off the beaten path.

If you want to discover coves with turquoise waters, coasts that seem to be drawn by a magical wand, underwater platforms where the marine fauna recovers, cliff mountains, fishing houses and castles mirroring in the Adriatic Sea or cities like perfect postcards: get ready to be enraptured by the beautiful diversity of Italian Croatian Naturalistic Route.

Two very different countries, one great Naturalstic route from the Trabocchi fishing houses and the Gran Sasso mountains in theAbruzzoRegion heading to the Blue Cave on Biševo, an island in the Vis archipelago located near Split at the end of this unique naturalistic experience.

Following the path, you will have the chance to walk in the Roman vestige in Ancona or admire The Conero Cliff Mount.

Or in Ravenna to dive beside the abandoned platforms or admiring the Flamingoes in the Baiona basin or cycling in the Salt Pans or visiting recovered turtles in one famous NGO who rescues turtles and other marine animals accidentally fished.

Or not far away from the usual crowded city tours in Venice you can walk during the low tide along the Barene path on Lazzaretto Island in Venice to admire the ecosystem usually submerged.

Recalling the Austro-Hungarian influence at the Miramare castle in Trieste and admiring the Duino Cliffs present themselves as a white limestone expanse of cliffs overlooking the sea, covering 107 hectares of Karst landscape.

Finally, we arrive in Croatia: green and blue. Green like the Grobnik Alp where you can trek close to Rijeka or relaxing at the Rječina River. Through forest clearings, rocky banks, and steep cliffs, all the way to a legally protected canyon, which is one of Rijeka’s best-preserved natural areas; blue like the water in Pritišćina, Rukavac or Modra špilja, discovering hidden caveson the coasts of the Vis archipelago, sailing and relaxing on these magical beaches.

Design your path through these Adriatic wonders. You will remember this route around the Adriatic treasures for a very long time, for unconventional experiences that keep hidden secrets.
